February 2010

Month of Steam Returns

Your senses will tell you that you re seeing something completely different from the usual. The sight of a 1930’s steam locomotive belching black smoke, the sound of hissing steam and chugging, the smell of coal embers, and the feel of that power all give you a sense of reliving the past in a real close-up way.

The Florida Railroad Museum is bringing No. 75 back for its forth annual visit to Florida, and you are invited to experience this unique ride. In addition to traveling on the train, you can see the photo history of the locomotive and the rebuilding project, as well as step aboard the No. 75 for a view from the cab and a look at the controls.

Lots of new and exciting programs and activities are planned for the 2010 event.

Under steam, the Flagg Coal is ready to depart on another round trip.
Steam locomotive engineers are a wild bunch and always happy to be dirty!

Away they go.
